Where did you see God show up today?

That question still rings in my mind.  I was attending a business "After-hour Meet & Greet" on the outskirts of Atlanta when someone I had just met asked me, "Where did you see God show up today?"  Wow! Great question.

My card holder was loaded, and my focus had been solely on connecting with individuals who worked for organizations which were prospects for my sales pipeline.  Pondering my response helped me re-focus my heart.  My perspective on the people and needs all around me changed instantly. 

We live in a world persistently seeking to drag our heart and mind into it's relentless gravitational pull.  Have you ever felt as if a force is attempting to squeeze you into the mold of the world view portrayed in the media?  Do you ever face an inner struggle of emotions which seems to elevates your own wishes and desires above what you know to be the "right thing to do?"  Ever realize you have placed yourself at the center of our own universe?  Welcome to the club.  

All of us confront moments of our mortality and short-sighted choices.  Keeping these casualties of the soul from piling up is a worthy mission.  It requires moment-by-moment re-structuring our intentions in order that we can live in congruence with God's perspective in the things pertaining to life.   Obedience is the key. 

Victory over the denegrating "rip-tide" of the soul is greatly aided when individuals take time to get to know God's promises.  Once the superficiality of the order of words and sentence structure gives way to "internalizing" time-tested precepts, the natural outflow is making conscious choices to align ourself in thought, word and deed with the truth that is embedded in our mind.  live in alignment with those promises, directives and warnings

Our next lunch gathering is expected to feature a talk of faith, hope and inspiration from Georgia's Governor and First Lady, Sonny and Mary Perdue.

Despite their pressing demands in public office - they have lived out their priorities of faith, family, service to the community and to the local church.  They had helped ignite hundreds of families in Georgia, and now nationally, to share the border of their homes with foster children. Viewing this as an extension of the "Great Commission" has been a perspective both of them shared while raising their biological children.  Sharing. Giving.
